The Relic First Guardian quick start — first-session checklist

A four-step first-session checklist for The Relic First Guardian: stamina, one weapon rhythm, relic growth and unknowns, with full systems and launch setup kept separate.

Quick Answer

Start with the stamina rule, test one weapon rhythm, note relic growth and record what still needs release-build verification. Use the beginner guide for full systems or the launch guide for purchase, install and controller setup.

Checkpoint

Keep stamina for defense

Attacks do not consume stamina in the published description; dodges and defense do.

Step 2

Test one weapon rhythm

Compare the feel of the shown weapon types before chasing an unverified best build.

Step 3

Learn relic growth

Track relics, runes, gear and crafting as the confirmed progression layer instead of looking for a traditional XP route.

Checkpoint

Mark unknowns

Treat damage values, drop locations, map routes and boss weaknesses as release-build verification questions.

Short first-session checklist

This is the short first-session checklist, not the complete systems-and-growth guide. Use the beginner guide for combat, weapons, relics and progression; use the launch guide for purchase, installation, controller and first-boot preparation.

Four things to do first

  1. Use stamina as a defense budget. The official description says attacking does not drain it, so do not play as if every swing competes with a dodge.
  2. Pick a rhythm, not a tier list. The game has five weapon types and twelve skill trees (see our weapons guide), but a release-build ranking is not verified yet.
  3. Record relic and rune effects. Growth is described through relics, items, gear and crafting rather than a traditional level grind; see our relics and runes guide.
  4. Keep a verification-notes list. Damage numbers, boss weaknesses (see bosses overview) and exact routes should be tested in the current release build, not copied from speculation.

This is a launch-oriented checklist based on official and preview sources, not a claim that every preview detail remains unchanged. Use the beginner guide for the longer explanation and the release page for the current platform status.
