The Relic First Guardian release date, platforms and editions
The Relic: First Guardian launches digitally on July 31, 2026 for PS5 and PC (Steam). A physical PS5 edition follows on September 4, and Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions arrive later in the summer, with no exact date announced yet.
Release dates at a glance
| Platform | Release date | Confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| PS5 (digital) | July 31, 2026 | Official Steam and Perp Games pages |
| PC via Steam | July 31, 2026 | Official Steam page |
| PS5 (physical retail) | September 4, 2026 | Press coverage of the publisher announcement |
| Xbox Series X|S | ”Later this summer” 2026 | Publisher statement, no exact date |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | ”Later this summer” 2026 | Publisher statement, no exact date |
The digital launch on July 31, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC is the anchor date, listed directly on the official Steam page and Perp Games’ own game page. The September 4 retail date for the PS5 physical edition comes from press coverage of the June 2026 announcement (RPG Site and others reporting the same publisher release), not from a store page we can link yet, so treat it as announced rather than shelf-checked.
Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 owners get the game later. The publisher has only committed to “later this summer” — if you see a specific Xbox or Switch 2 date anywhere, it is not from an official source as of our last check.
The date moved — ignore anything that says May 26
If you searched for this game earlier in the year, you probably saw May 26, 2026. That date is real but outdated: the PlayStation Blog post from December 2025 announced May 26, and the game was later delayed. From mid-June 2026 onward, every official channel — Steam, Perp Games, and the release date trailer — says July 31, 2026.
Practical rule: only trust dates published after June 2026. Older previews, wishlists screenshots and calendar sites still circulate the May date.
Editions and the pre-order bonus
There is one known bonus: pre-ordering gets you The Night of the Unextinguished Flame day-one pack at no extra cost. Perp Games’ official announcement lists the exact contents:
- Event: The Night of the Unextinguished Flame
- Dungeon: Sanctuary of the Forgotten Light, described as a high-difficulty challenge
- Unique relic: Sealstone of the Undying Ember
- Exclusive armor: Armour of the Unextinguished Vigil
- Exclusive weapons: Unextinguished Vigil (sword and shield)
Digital pre-orders are live on the PlayStation Store; on Steam and Xbox the game is wishlist-only for now. No deluxe, collector’s or season-pass edition has been announced. If you want to know how the pre-order sword and shield fits the combat system, see the weapons overview, and the Sealstone slots into the relic system covered in the relics and runes guide.
Price, PC specs and other open questions
Several launch-adjacent facts are still not published anywhere official:
- Price: the Steam page lists no price as of July 26, 2026.
- PC system requirements: Steam only shows “Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system”; everything else is TBC.
- Global unlock times: not announced.
- Xbox / Switch 2 dates: “later this summer” only.
We will update this page when any of these change rather than guess.
Who is making it, and what kind of game is it
The Relic: First Guardian is developed by South Korean studio Project Cloud Games and published by Perp Games, the publishing arm of Perpetual Europe. Steam categorizes it as an action RPG with dark fantasy and souls-like tags: a semi-open world, five weapon types, relic-based progression with no traditional levels, and up to 80 bosses. The store page lists eleven supported languages, with full audio in English and interface plus subtitles for the rest, including Korean, Japanese and both Chinese scripts.
